GAME LODGE
A grande dame in the safari industry, Thornybush Game Lodge was one of the first commercial camps in South Africa and firmly established Thornybush Nature Reserve as a world renowned game-viewing destination in the Greater Kruger Park.
After a recent facelift, the lodge has been given a fresh new look yet retained its classic safari charm. Texture and tone play leading roles – wood, steel, leather and rattan combine with neutral pops of colour and greenery.
Private and stylish, each one of Game Lodge’s 16 luxury suites comes with everything you may need, including fluffy slippers and an outside shower. The rooms also come with large sliding doors, so you can lie on your bed in your sarong and look out into the bush.
On arrival, you’ll start to unwind as you walk down the pathway to the thatched main area overlooking the sandy riverbed. Sit at the fabulous bar and enjoy a harvest table-style lunch as herds of elephants, buffalo and plains game pass by. Our delicious breakfasts are also served here after the morning game drive as sunbirds flit around the aloes and nyalas graze on our lush lawns.
ROOMS
Sixteen luxurious suites fan out from the main area with riverbed views and two are Kamara House, our new safari villa for families and small parties.
IN-ROOM FACILITIES
Private and stylishly decorated, the Luxury Suites are a joy to spend a night in and difficult to leave.
The large windows above the bath and giant sliding doors to the deck offer incredible views of the riverbed and any animals that may be wallowing there.

SASEKA TENTED CAMP
Saseka feels very much like a shining jewel in our Thornybush crown. After years of coming to this bend in the Monwana River to celebrate special occasions we finally decided to build something as remarkable as the setting feels.
The main area has a large, tiered deck with a broad view of the riverbed and a cleverly designed roof that mimics the dappled light of a tree canopy. This is where we love to meet with our guests for a drink or a meal, share stories and listen to the afternoon breeze bringing the surrounding trees to life.
Eight luxury tents, each with their own private deck, outdoor shower and pool, accommodate two guests each. The Leadwood Villa can host groups with a central lounge and dining area, shared deck and pool, as well as a private safari vehicle.
The eight suites, with elevated views of the riverbed, are ultra-spacious safari tents on permanent foundations. Glass doors open up onto your own extensive private deck and pool, complete with sun loungers and chairs. In a private corner, there’s also an outdoor shower with bush views.
ROOMS
The nine tented suites, with elevated views of the riverbed, are ultra-spacious safari tents on permanent foundations. Glass doors open up onto your own extensive private deck and pool, complete with sun loungers and chairs. In a private corner, there’s also an outdoor shower with bush views.
Attention to detail is present wherever you look, a great example of this is the fabric of the interior canvas, designed exclusively for Saseka, with prints from the herbarium in Pretoria of all the region’s plants.
The intelligent lighting of the tented suites is also an impressive feature. The suites allow the sounds of the bush to filter in to give you a truly immersed safari experience.

LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE
Lukimbi Safari Lodge is one of only 7 private concessions in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. Experience a unique private safari in this vast protected reserve where the Big Five and a wide variety of other animals and birds roam free in their natural habitat.
We chose the location of Lukimbi Safari Lodge very carefully for it was critical that the extraordinary magic of the reserve was fully appreciated whether out in the bush on safari or from the sanctuary of the lodge itself. When we came upon a clearing under a cluster of ancient trees in front of a natural fed spring, with the most beautiful view along the bank of the Lwakahle River, we knew we had found home.
A Lukimbi safari is a unique take on a traditional Kruger National Park safari in that vehicles are permitted to traverse off-road under strictly controlled conditions. This, coupled with the fact that no more than 32 people enjoy 15 000 hectares of pristine protected wilderness, makes for an exclusive and highly personalised close contact safari experience.
ROOMS
Our Luxury Suites are romance personified. Ample space encourages shared moments – be that on the deck, at the poolside, in the double-volume stone bathtub-with-a-view, or in the secluded outdoor shower.
Every room and living space was designed around the view, while latticed ceilings filter the sun’s dappled light, casting ambient shifting shadows as the sun moves across the sky. This Lodge is one with the environment, and you can feel it.
IN-ROOM FACILITIES
Each of our 14 Classic Suites occupies its own elevated position overlooking the bush, and has been designed to magnify the view. Private shaded decks, cathedral styled windows, floor-to-ceiling glass in front of great stone bathtubs, and open outdoor showers promise ample opportunity to fully appreciate and be one with the wilderness.
Guests are invited to make themselves completely at home with their every comfort considered. Generous open space, 200 thread count linen, sumptuous feather pillows (micro fibre pillows available on request), deluxe amenities and an in room refreshment centre (including beverages and a selection of snacks) encourage proper relaxation.

KAPAMA GAME LODGE
The largest of the Kapama Private Game Reserve camps, River Lodge’s wide, open spaces and airy design are a constant reminder that you’re sleeping under the African sky. Besides the luxury five-star accommodation, River Lodge is more festive and social than our smaller, quieter camps, which is why young couples and groups of friends are often among our guests. Escape to a place away from time, and indulge in one of the finest safari lodges near the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
Relax beside a roaring fire in our African themed lounge or stroll over to River bar for a cocktail to sip alongside the sparkling rim-flow pool, all the while keeping an eye out for thirsty elephants taking a sedate stroll to the nearby watering hole.
For something more indulgent, make your way to the new 12m x 12m pool & cocktail bar. Whether it is a craft gin or classic cocktail in hand, relax on a poolside lounger, or escape the South African sun under a shaded alcove, as you take in the sounds of nature around you.

River Lodge’s spacious air-conditioned deluxe suites have uninterrupted views over the Big Five game reserve from any area of the room or private patio. The 60m2 suite is a perfect balance of rustic elegance, modern industrial and solid oak craftsmanship finish and up-to-date room technology. The full, en-suite bathroom comprises natural stone finishes, an open rain shower as well as a deep soaking bath with views of the Africa Bush and lavish amenities.
IN-ROOM FACILITIES
For those looking to find their zen, the spa suites come highly recommended, as does a spot of yoga from the privacy of your patio while overlooking the magnificence of the bush.
